Bruce Mau

Visionary and world-leading innovator Bruce Mau is thrilled to participate in the visioning process to re-imagine the future of Liverpool.

In his lecture, which was chaired by Roger Philips, Mau shared some major recent initiatives at Bruce Mau Design studio that can be seen as case studies for this ambitious endeavour. Mau shared celebrated projects such as Massive Change, an exhibition on design as a source of radical change, ¡GuateAmala!, a galvanizing civic movement with the country of Guatemala, the creation of Xochimilco, a new aquarium and learning centre on a historic park in Mexico City, inspiring a creative vision for the first Denver Biennial, and developing a campaign with Arizona State University and the Mayo Clinic.

As Chief Creative Officer of Bruce Mau Design, Mau has gained an international reputation for his commitment to interdisciplinary and purpose-driven innovation, working with clients such as Frank Gehry, Coca-Cola, MTV, Herman Miller, New Meadowlands Stadium, McDonalds and the feature length documentary The 11th Hour. His newest book collaboration, The Third Teacher, features a collection of 79 ways that design can transform teaching and learning for children to thrive in tomorrow’s world. Through his design practice, Mau continues to pursue life’s big question, ‘Now that we can do anything, what will we do?’
