Liverpool Biennial launches online archive.

The Liverpool Biennial Archive is a brand new digital database that makes available all the essential information about the Liverpool Biennial International exhibition since its inception in 1999.

Covering each of the four previous festivals, the archive contains the names of all the artists who have participated in the International exhibition, information and images on the work they produced, biographical data and interpretive texts taken from catalogues and publications.

Over the next year we will add excerpts from commissioned videos, recordings and transcripts of talks and conferences, records of learning and inclusion activities, marketing and promotional materials and information about one-off and year-round projects. Information from the 2008 International will be archived after the close of the festival.

The Archive is published in collaboration with Adatabase, developed by A Foundation as an open-source research engine and digital archive for contemporary visual culture.
