International 08 exhibition: Bookable and Specialist Tours Announced

Liverpool Biennial’s Bookable Tours explore the public realm artworks and are aimed at education and community groups. Two group tours are offered daily- 10am and 1pm, Monday to Saturday during the festival. The maximum number in each group is 25. There is a £20 commitment donation per group for each tour, which also entitles your group to one Visitor Guide. The tours will begin at Liverpool Biennial’s Visitor Centre, which is in the ABC cinema just across from Lime Street Station.

In addition, Specialist Tours will take place every Saturday at 1pm during the festival, and will be led by a curator, critic or artist. All tours commence from Liverpool Biennial Visitor Centre unless otherwise stated. Individual places can be booked for £5 commitment donation.

27 Sept: Mike Stubbs, Director of FACT leads a tour of FACT, starting in the FACT foyer

4 Oct: Sara-Jayne Parsons, Exhibitions Curator at the Bluecoat leads a tour of The Bluecoat, starting in The Bluecoat foyer

11 Oct: Laurence Sillars, Curator at Tate Liverpool leads a tour of Tate’s Biennial exhibition, starting in Tate Liverpool foyer

18 Oct: Sorcha Carey, Public Realm Curator for Liverpool Biennial leads a tour around the Public Realm

25 Oct: Joseph Sharples, Author of the Pevsner Guide for  Liverpool provides an insight to the Public Realm artworks.

1 Nov: Paul Domela, Programme Director of Liverpool Biennial leads a tour exploring the Public Realm

8 Nov: Alison Jones, Artist and Curator leads a tour of selected Public Realm pieces, informed by a Disability perspective she will explore accessibility and art.

15 Nov: Laurie Peake, Programme Director for Public Art at Liverpool Biennial explores the International 08 exhibition and looks at some of Liverpool Biennial’s city centre commissions for 2008 Capital of Culture Year

22 Nov: Lewis Biggs, Director of Liverpool Biennial leads an insightful tour around the artworks in the Public Realm


29 Nov: Brian Hatton, Writer and Critic (contributor to Liverpool Biennial International 08 Catalogue) leads a tour of the Public Realm.
